Stop the Alabama Gas Tax Launches "Directory of Fake Republicans" Ahead of Massive Gas Tax Vote

MONTGOMERY—On Thursday morning, as the House holds its first procedural vote in committee on the largest gas-tax increase in the state history of the state of Alabama, Stop the Alabama Gas Tax vowed not to let "anyone forget this vote."

Ralph Long, Chairman of Stop the Alabama Gas Tax, said that "every single legislator who knifes their constituents in the back with this massive gas-tax increase will be held accountable."

On Thursday, Stop the Alabama Gas Tax launched a Directory of Fake Republicans and invited Alabama citizens to keep tabson the status of their representatives.

"The vote on this proposal is critical," Hannah Ford, spokesperson for Stop the Alabama Gas Tax said, "because it flies in the face of everything both conservatives and the hardworking families of Alabama want to see from their representatives in Montgomery. We will not let the state forget this vote."
